December 14, 2011 Next summer marks the 35 running of the Utica Boilermaker, the country's largest 15K road race. To mark the anniversary, the Boilermaker has incorprated that theme into the new race logo unveiled just moments ago on the Boilermaker Facebook page.
July 10, 2011 And again, Ridouane Harroufi from Morocco is a 2nd time winner of the Utica Boilermaker 15K road race. He also won in 2009.
15K is about 9.3 miles of running but as I noted live on Lite 98.7 just before the cannon blast, the path to the starting area adds just enough distance to total 9.87 miles. (okay I just made that up).

July 5, 2011 Sunday is the big day, when the streets of Utica will be filled with the sounds of thousands of feet hitting the pavement, as the Boilermaker gets underway. It's such a fun event, both to take part in and to watch. I haven't run it in several years, but I wouldn't miss watching it for the world. I've asked a bunch of my runner friends for their best tips for having a good Boilermaker run, whether it's your first Boilermaker or your tenth.
