Although the History Channel's 'Hatfields & McCoys' took home the 2012 Emmy awards for Outstanding Actor in a Miniseries or Movie and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie, it was 'Game Change' that emerged as the major victory in the ceremony, taking home trophies for Outstanding Actress in a Miniseries or Movie and Outstanding Miniseries or Movie. It was It's typical HBO behavior: hogging all of the Emmy's and refusing to share the wealth!

So I'm watching the Emmy's and the memorial segment plays and I'm thinking "Where's Uncle Leo"? Len Lesser, best known as the scene-stealing Uncle Leo on Seinfield passed this year and so did Clarice Taylor, who played Bill Cosby's mom on the Cosby Show.

But, the most glaring omission from the Emmy Award's tear-jerking montage this year? Jeff Conaway, who played struggling actor Bobby Wheeler on the influential “Taxi” for three seasons, plus security officer Zack Allen on “Babylon 5,” numerous guest appearances, and a seminal turn as a struggling addict on “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.”

Jane Lynch opened the 63rd Emmy Awards with a song and dance number that took the audience through the world of television, reimagined as an inner-city apartment building housing all the top TV shows.

Lynch walked through scenes of hit series like ‘Mad Men‘ (where she was asked to leave the room when she informed Don Draper that in 50 years people would be fast-forwarding through commercials) and ‘The Big Bang Theory’ (where she learned that not all jokes merit canned laughter).

As expected, 'Mad Men' and 'Modern Family' were among the top series nominated for the 2011 Primetime Emmys, announced early Thursday morning.

'Mad Men' picked up an impressive 19 nominations, the most of any drama series, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Leading Actor (Jon Hamm), Outstanding Leading Actress (Elisabeth Moss) and Outstanding Supporting Actress (Christina Hendricks).
