For a week that was supposed to be lacking in big games or traditional rivalries, this week sure gave us a lot of excitement. West Virginia and Baylor showed us an offensive shootout for the ages. Stanford became the latest Top Ten team to bite the dust. And Texas and Nebraska both needed fourth quarter comebacks to keep their conference title hopes alive.
Here are all the highlights from this week in college football.
Earlier this week the Bills released Brian Moorman, arguably the best punter in the NFL. He had the best statistical season of his career in 2011 when he finished with an average of 48.2 yards per punt. He's been in the Pro Bowl year after year. Moorman is averaging 45.2 yards per punt this season, but his 32.7 net average ranks 30th in the league. Will it hurt against The Patriots?

Jets fans get ready for the worst news of the day; It’s been confirmed by head coach Rex Ryan that Darrelle Revis will miss the rest of the 2012 season with a torn ACL.
Jamie Kuntz, a freshman linebacker, wasn't able to play in North Dakota State College of Sciences first football game of the year because of a concussion. Instead the 18-year-old watched the game from the press box, and it was there where Kuntz, who is gay, shared a kiss with his boyfriend
Matt Ryan passed for 219 yards and two touchdowns, as the Atlanta Falcons took advantage of three first-quarter interceptions by Peyton Manning to beat the Denver Broncos, 27-21, in the Georgia Dome on Monday night.
Even without Freddy Jackson and David Nelson, there is plenty to get excited about in Buffalo.
Heading into Week 2, the Buffalo Bills boast the NFL's No. 1 ranked rushing offense. Buffalo ran for 195 yards on just 26 carries in Week 1 in their losing effort to the NY Jets, averaging a tremendous 7.5 yards per carry.
In Broward County, Florida, telling an athlete that they “throw like a girl” is about to become a compliment.

Lord knows many of us could care less for those touchdowns and passes and quarterbacking that takes place during football games, but Tony Gonzalez makes them worth watching.
2011 was a wild year in the world of sports. Sadly, much of the drama occurred off the field and left many of us vainly searching for an answer to the question, “How could they have let this happen?” But fortunately, there were also a lot of great team and individual accomplishments to be enjoyed this year.
