Jason Momoa may not be a household name yet, but that could all change with the release of ‘Conan the Barbarian,’ in which the hunky 32-year-old from Hawaii stars as the titular character.
Momoa, who began his career as a model, has been a pretty consistent presence on TV, with roles on ‘Baywatch’ and ‘Stargate Atlantis.’ Currently, you can catch him on the Emmy-nominated HBO series ‘Game of Thones,’ on which he plays Khal Drogo.
As expected, 'Mad Men' and 'Modern Family' were among the top series nominated for the 2011 Primetime Emmys, announced early Thursday morning.
'Mad Men' picked up an impressive 19 nominations, the most of any drama series, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Leading Actor (Jon Hamm), Outstanding Leading Actress (Elisabeth Moss) and Outstanding Supporting Actress (Christina Hendricks).

June 13, 2011 If you've become engrossed with HBO's blockbuster medieval fantasy drama, 'Game of Thrones,' welcome into the gritty world of author George RR Martin. The 'Game of Thrones' series is based on the best-selling novels by Martin. Fans of the novels learned early on that these books would not follow any fantasy standards. This is no rote hero's quest. TV viewers new to the world of Westeros are finding that out. I wondered how the viewing public would react when their standard expectations of fiction are shattered. Not surprisingly, the internet exploded Sunday night followed that episode's shocking ending.

April 14, 2011 I first stumbled onto George RR Martin's fantasy series A Song of Ice And Fire in the late 90s. I'd never really read fantasy. Most of the classics passed me by like the Wheel of Time and The Lord of the Rings (never have read those or seen the movies). That major strike to my fantasy credibility aside, the books of the Song of Ice and Fire are amazing in that even though they are set in this Medieval-inspired world of chivalry, knights and kings, they are so much deeper than a simple hero's quest-type story that litter the genre.
