I'm a huge Elton John fan, so I was eager to see this year's crop of American Idol hopefuls take on the tunes of Elton John and Bernie Taupin. And they didn't disappoint. (Although, once again this year no one attempted by favorite, "Mona Lisa's And Mad Hatters.")
The performance that garnered the most attention was James Durbin's rockin' take on one of the rockin'-est songs in the Elton catalogue, "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting." He channels Hendrix with his backbend and flames and pulls of the performance I'll be most likely to remember from this season.
