It was an exciting weekend during the Marine Corps Beaufort Air Show. Not only the amazing performance from the Navy's Blue Angels, but also a first for the flight team - it was the first time a woman was one of the pilots in the show.

The News came out of Washington Wednesday (January 23rd) when Defense officials and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said that the Pentagon is lifting its ban on women serving in combat. This is an historic move that will open front-line positions and potentially elite commando jobs to our female members of the military.

For the first time, women in the armed forces will be moved into combat roles. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta will make the official announcement Thursday.
