Years though it's been, every day in the wait for new 'Arrested Development' episodes brings with it a renewed sense of anticipation to see our favorite Bluths once more. We've followed every casting development and a bit of additional content, but the latest 'Arrested Development' season 4 push might be the strangest yet. In advance of the Netflix revival in the spring, the pay-content streaming service has added all the in-universe movies and TV to its instant roster, but to what end? What secrets are hidden in the videos?
Netflix came up with a great idea back in the late 90's to make it more convenient to rent and do away with those dreaded late fees once and for all. But where does this once revolutionary company stand now that it has to share the playground with Redbox and since video streaming is the new(er) kid on the block?
Winter is just around the corner, so it's time to start hunkering down and avoiding the outdoors at all costs. Stay out of the November rain and watch TV instead -- that's what you own one for. Here are the best new releases on Netflix Instant for the next month. Hopefully they'll tide you over until Thanksgiving.
Uh-oh, is the 'Arrested Development' reunion in trouble? We've seen a few set pics before, nothing that truly gave anything away about the upcoming season, but some recent spy pics, while hilarious, could have some fairly startling implications. Check these 'Arrested Development' spoilers, if you dare!
Netflix, the one-time master of customer service, just can’t seem to get it right anymore. On Monday, the video rental giant revealed in its third quarter report that it has lost about 800,000 subscribers since June, and the company expects to lose more in the coming months.
Netflix has been doing so much backpedaling lately, it’s surprising the company hasn’t adopted a bicycle for its logo.
In the most recent reversal, Netflix announced Monday that it’s scrapping a plan to split its streaming and DVD-by-mail services into two different companies and would instead keep both under the Netflix name. The abandoned idea would’ve seen the mailed DVD service take on the name Qwikster, with a separate website and separate billing.
Chances are good at least one “d’oh!” was uttered in at least one Netflix conference room Tuesday morning.
It seems the company, which on Monday announced it would split up its service and rebrand the DVD-delivery side Qwikster, neglected to lock up the name on Twitter. Now Jason Castillo, who’s owned the @Qwikster name on the microblogging service since April, wants money — big money — to hand it over.
In the wake of unpopular rate increases that caused customers to cancel subscriptions in droves and resulted in the company stock nosediving, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings apologized in a blog post on Sunday.
“I messed up,” he said. “I owe everyone an explanation … In hindsight, I slid into arrogance based upon past success.”
DVD-by-mail and digital streaming service Netflix has announced a new pricing structure, and its customers are doing the metaphorical version of booing and throwing popcorn at the screen.
People who currently pay $10 for one DVD per month plus unlimited digital streaming will see rates jump to $16, while those who get two DVDs plus streaming will have a new rate of $20, up from $15. The price increases take effect September 1 for existing customers. New subscribers will pay the new prices immediately upon sign-up.
If you're a Netflix user like me, you know you can enjoy a lot of movies and TV shows that are available on DVD to rent or buy. And the convenience of Netflix makes it easy to watch them for a low price each month. Now, Netflix is shifting gears and could change the face of entertainment.
