U.S Releases Bin Laden Video Found In Raid [VIDEO]

The White House on Saturday (May 7th) released five clips of Osama bin Laden that were found in the raid on his compound, most of them showing the al-Qaida leader rehearsing the videotaped speeches he would periodically release. Although bin Laden's beard was dyed black in most of them, one clip showed him gray-bearded, sitting in a room while wearing a blanket and ski cap and watching videos of himself. The U.S. said it removed the videos' sound so as not to transmit bin Laden's propaganda. U.S. officials also said that the material retrieved from the compound strengthened the belief that bin Laden was a lot more involved in planning and directing al-Qaida operations than had been thought over the last decade. A defense official said it suggests he was giving strategic direction to the al-Qaida affiliates in Somalia and Yemen as well. National Security Adviser Tom Donilon said Sunday (May 8th) that the material seized from the compound is the largest amount of intelligence ever gathered from a single terrorist, and is about the size of a small college library.
