If you travel up route 5 through North Utica heading to Herkimer and beyond, you'll have to stop again at the Burger King as the full function traffic light has returned. In other traffic news, in Whitesboro along Route 69, the traffic signal work at the Whitestown Plaza / Whitesboro Middle School entrance will continue for just a bit longer. You'll encounter sporadic, short-term lane closures controlled by flaggers.

Downtown Utica Streets Closed For Construction Through Next week

The NYS Department of Transportation reports that I-790 paving operations will continue, and hopefully wrap up this week, weather permitting. The majority of the work is between between Edic Road and Leland Ave. Two-lane traffic eastbound and/or westbound will be reduced to one-lane traffic during daytime hours. You'll have to slow down to a reduced speed limit to 45 mph in the work zone. A slowdown is to be expected in downtown Utica as well.
