Dr. Kent Hall, the Chief Physician Executive at MVHS, is spending his final days at the newly opened Wynn Hospital. Hall will retire this Friday, January 26th.
This is not medical advice. I'm not telling you what to do. I'm telling you what I did to feel better when I woke up this morning with a sore throat. First of all, I haven't had a sore throat in over 8 years. Yesterday, on my way home from the station, I felt a little tickle happening in the throat region, that was unusual for me. I've had a few of what I call "crunchies" here and there over the years, but I'll throw whole food at it: green juice, ginger, herbal tea infusions, "mama juice", a whole garlic clove, honey, garlic honey, etc. Was it not, Hippocrates who said,
Let food be thy medicine and let medicine be thy food.
It's that time of the year again, where you hear the sniffles and coughs floating around the office. Here's what you need to do if you start showing symptoms.
The Coxsackie virus is spreading in Upstate NY, even making its way to some Utica schools. One mom says she's had enough of parents sending their sick kids to school.
The CDC has expanded the multi-state E. coli warning and says if you don't know where your romaine lettuce comes from then get rid of it and don't eat it.
Whether you have a cold, the flu, or are just feeling under the weather, the last thing you need to hear is some ridiculous comments that make you feel even worse.
Just one more reason why you need to stay home and focus on getting better, instead of trying to make it through work and daily activities when you're sick.
If you've ever had to deal with a man when he's got a cold or the flu, you know the struggle. Why do they turn into such babies? A study may have the answer to that.
