Winter's not quite over yet. While most of the snow has melted in Central New York, there is still some on the ground in Old Forge. And this weekend will be the perfect chance to keep winter alive a little longer.
Unfortunately, this winter we've gotten FEET of snow...then rain. Then more snow and another thaw. This weekend (February 24-26, 2017) would have been the rescheduled Boonville Snow Festival, but it has been cancelled again.
While some are rejoicing in 'The Winter That Wasn't,' that is not the case for the businesses in New York's North Country that depend on the snow to bring snowmobilers and other winter weather enthusiasts. Would a push to bring off-road ATV riders to the same trails bring back some of the revenue lost this season?
Some are enjoying this snow free weather, while snowmobilers hate every minute of it. If you’re itching to take the sled out on the best trails around, The 2012 Oneida County Snowmobile Trail Guide has just been released. It’s a detailed guide to the best trails around.
