In the words of John F Kennedy, "We express our gratitude to our Veteran's. We must never forget the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."

There is not much time left to sponsor your flag to honor your veteran! The Good News Center is selling flag sponsorships to put up along the parkway. The money raised will be given to our heroes and their families. The flags that have already been sponsored are currently on display along the parkway in Utica and they look amazing.

One of the most important things for a soldier deployed overseas is constant contact and communication with their family and loved ones. It may be the only relief they have from the stress and trauma of being in combat or in difficult situations. That is why Senator Joe Griffo and AT&T are teaming up with "Cell Phones for Soldiers."

The Navy salutes its home base of Annapolis, Md., in a new parody of "Uptown Funk" called "Naptown Funk."

On Veterans Day, November 11th, you can fish for free. No license needed.

It's less than a week from Veteran's Day. The day we honor the men and women who have worn or are wearing the uniform and defend our freedom every day. A number of restaurants are saying thank you by offering free or discounted meals.

Tuesday is Veterans Day, so President Obama made sure to recognize all their efforts in his most recent weekly address.

We at 96.1 WODZ salute veterans and those serving in our military today on the observance of Veterans' Day. We thank you for your service; many of whom have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. As today is a federal holiday, there are a number of closings today.

Veterans Day is a time we thank those who sacrificed so much for our freedom. Many different restaurants thank Veterans on this day by offering them free meals. Here's a list of a few that are offering this perk locally in Utica and Rome.

A number of area restaurants are offering active duty military and veterans free food and drinks for Veterans' Day as a way to say "Thank you" for your service. Check out the list for area restaurants taking part in this salute.

Baskin-Robbins is honoring our country's veterans with their new flavor of the month. First Class Camouflage has Chocolate, salty caramel, and cake flavored ice creams, blended together. A dime from every scoop sold on Veteran's Day, November 11th will be donated to the USO.
