The Washington Post recently ran a story about the most common street names in America. Spoiler Alert - the winner is Park. The article then broke things down by state listing the 10 most common street names in each. Utica has 7 (or 8*) of the 10 most common street names.

According to the Washington Post, here are the 10 most common street names across New York.

New York
Park, 451
Maple, 314
Lake, 292
Sunset, 245
Pine, 243
Main, 228
Oak, 222
North, 210
1st / First, 203
River, 202

So which of these don't exist in Utica? I can say pretty certainly (with a little back-up from Google Maps) that there are no North or Lake Streets in Utica. Pine Street - that's not so clear. Drive around town and you will not see a street sign for a Pine Street, but there used to be. When you drive past the Utica Police Department on either Oriskany Boulevard or Lafayette Street, you pass by and old alignment for Pine Street. The roadway is still shown on Google Maps.
