The Next Superstar To Appear On ‘The Simpsons’: Lady GaGa
Have you heard? Lady GaGa will appear as herself on an episode in the upcoming season of FOX hit animated TV show, ‘The Simpsons.’
Yeardley Smith, who voices the character of Lisa Simpson, said Gaga recorded her appearance this past Monday. Yeardley said the show’s writers portrayed the pop star as “the happiest, most optimistic person in the world.” Smith also commented, “She comes to Springfield to try to cheer up Lisa, but she can’t.”
Lady Gaga says that she took the role seriously adding, “I make music, but I don’t do voiceovers every day of the week, and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humor. That’s what I was trying to focus on, not putting on a character too much and really being as sincere as I could with the lines.”
The episode will include a Gaga Express train powered by a giant flame-shooting bustier, plenty of wardrobe changes and a kiss with Marge Simpson.
Gaga’s thrilled about her appearance on the long-running series, calling it, “one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.” She has actually appeared on a previous ’Simpsons’ episode — she showed up as Elton John’s date at the Golden Globes, but Gaga didn’t voice the character.
The episode will air in the spring, although the exact date isn’t yet known. ‘The Simpsons’ starts its 23rd season September 25.
