Remember When: The Olympic Torch Passes Through Utica [PHOTOS]
The 2012 Summer Olympic Games are a few months away in London, and that means that an Olympic torch is progressing somewhere through the British Empire. It was 11 years ago that the Olympic spirit was felt in Utica as the torch passed through before the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.
Dave Williams carries the Olympic Torch through Oneida Square in Utica. That would look different today as this took place years before the roundabout was installed on Genesee Street.

Nathan Austing was the next Torch Bearer through South Utica.
Susan Tran catches the Olympic Spirit as the torch nears the Utica/New Hartford border.
Finally the New Hartford Fire Department has the flag raised high over Genesee Street in the village as Edward Burns has the honor of carrying the Olympic Flame.
Do you remember the Olympic Torch passing through town? Is carrying the torch something you’ve ever dreamed of doing?
