Once upon a time, it was a small unique group of people who don't have dimples, but now want them. Now a days, the interest has grown significantly. The process is relatively painless and inexpensive.

Would you go through this to improve you smile? To have dimples done, an incision is made inside the cheek, and doctors say that there is no scar and hardly any swelling or soreness. Dr Amiya Prasad, a New York-based cosmetic surgeon, tells us:

"People like dimples, it's a unique group, a tremendous interest in it and we are surprised by the people who want to have dimples. The incision is made inside the cheek, so there is no scar and hardly any swelling or soreness. There's kind of a sweet spot where the skin will naturally give us permission to fold in a little bit and look more natural."

The dimple surgery procedure takes about a half an hour and costs approximately $1,200.

Perhaps you can understand this procedure for appearance and self esteems. Nose rings, lip piercing and facial tattoos...that's another story.
