Going to the post office next year will cost you a bit more money.  Starting in January, the Postal Service is increasing the price of a first-class stamp.

The price of a first-class stamp will increase one cent to 46 cents, beginning January 27th.  The Postal Service will also increases the rates for international mailings.  Postcard stamps are increasing too,  one cent to 33 cents.    Why the increase?  According to CNN,  Congress passed a law back in 2006 which ordered the Postal Service to set aside money for future retirees.  The Postal Service has been struggling for a while and has asked Congress for financial help.  So far it's not happening and Congress won't do anything until after the Presidential election.  Do you still use regular mail?  Is 46 cents too much for a letter?
