Let's introduce the Mohawk Valley to The Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen in Rome NY. They are a human service organization of caring and loving people who are providing a wonderful service for the elderly, needy and handicapped in our region. They've been a big help for about a year now and they want to grow and help out even more Central New Yorkers.

You can count on The Soup Kitchen in Rome for free deliveries to our Vets, the homeless, the working poor and for any children who are in need. We are all aware of those who still suffer from the lack of basic human needs, basic material needs, such as food, clothing, and household necessities. Now we have another outlet for assistance. The volunteers can also help with psychological needs, such as motivation, self-esteem, and rehabilitation along with social needs, such as support systems and meaningful relationships.
Executive Director Anthony M. DeJean Sr. tell us:

In order to serve as a positive factor healing force in the spirits and lives of needy individuals, the Soup Kitchen strives to provide encouragement, direction, and material assistance to promote growth and wholesome independence with respect and dignity. No questions asked.everybody and anybody can come 100% volunteers...

Every person who comes to The Soup Kitchen for assistance is welcomed, without regard to race, sex, age, color, national origin, religious preference, handicap or income. As mentioned, FLAME, a group from upstate New York made up of 11 people with developmental/physical disabilities, including autism, Down's syndrome, developmental disabilities and blindness will perform on August 12th.
