Looking for something to do during this beautiful weekend in Central New York? Well, these suggestions may be able to help you.

It's going to be an amazing weekend weather-wise, you might as well make it an amazing weekend adventure-wise, too. Maybe follow this itinerary for Saturday, or just pick and choose a few activities to get you outside and enjoying the things Central New York has to offer.

Start Your Day with Some Fresh, Local Shopping

Head down to Union Station in Utica for the Oneida County Public Market. With tons of local treats from gourmet bacon, jams and jellies, flowers and herbs, to candles, fresh veggies, and so much more, you're sure to find something perfect for you and your family. It starts at 9am and you can check out all the vendors that will be there, here.

Get a Little Pick-Me-Up

After stopping by the Oneida County Public Market, you may want something to refresh your energy from all that shopping. Try Utica Coffee Roasting Company. You can grab one of their amazing coffee or iced coffee drinks, and maybe pick up a little treat like a blueberry muffin or a bagel.

Hang Out with Matt Hubbell and Try Out a Kayak

This is something interesting and unique you can check out on Saturday. Herb Philipson's in the New Hartford Shopping Center will have a 40 foot by 60 foot pool in front of their store, so people can stop by and test out canoes and kayaks from "Old Town." Matt Hubbell will be hanging out there as well, with the Lite 98.7 jackpot machine and tons of prizes to give away. Stop by for some fun in the sun, starting at noon.

Lunch Time!

After paddling and hanging out with Matt, you're probably going to be hungry. Try a different option for lunch that benefits those in our community. Zion Lutheran Church in New Hartford is hosting a BBQ Chicken Drive Thru. It's only $7 for half of a chicken, and the money raised is going to "Your Neighbors, Inc." But don't eat the chicken right away... (see next suggestion)

Enjoying the Fresh Air

Take your half chicken from the suggestion above and head over to the park - Maybe Hanna Park or Proctor Park. Then enjoy your half chicken picnic-style. Maybe take a walk around the park when you're finished and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Go See the Animals

Speaking of the beautiful weather, is there ever a better time to go to the Utica Zoo? Check out the African Lions, the Red Panda Exhibit (that draws a crowd from all over the country), and Boomer the Ostrich (with his two new friends). Maybe catch the Sea Lion Feeding at 3pm.

Enjoy Local Cuisine

It's getting close to dinnertime. Stop by one of Central New York's favorite places for a bite to eat. You can take the Greek route and head to Symeon's in Yorkville, or if you're feeling steak go to Delmonico's Italian Steakhouse. You could also go for Utica's favorite chicken riggies at Chesterfield's.

Find 'Secrets' in the City

Take a walk through Utica up Genesee Street. Maybe stop in some of the stores in the area - The ones you haven't really noticed before. You never know what you could find! While you're walking about, take a turn down Oriskany Street and look for the 'hidden' Utica Historic Marker.

Wrap Up the Night with a Drink or Two

Depending on your mood whether you want to party it out or if you just want to sit back and have a cold one or two, Varick Street is where you want to head. You could have a few at Celtic Harp and get movin' with DJ Mikey Mike (who will be there on Saturday). Or head over to Varick Bar and Grill, Nail Creek, or O'Donnell's. Or bounce around from one place to another - It's your day, do what you want.
