The same weekend we found out that Rochester could be a finalist to land Amazon's much-publicized second headquarters, one Rochester-area resident really blew his shot at being considered for a job.

Adam Wettig, 32, was arrested at his suburban Chili home after he admitted to police that he used a knife to rob a local Subway sandwich shop.

Here's what tripped him up: His ankle monitor installed following a PRIOR burglary conviction showed he was IN the Subway at the exact time of the robbery.

Not only that: the employee on duty said Wettig had been the only person in the shop at that time. And Wettig matched the description given by the Subway worker.

Wettig is in the Monroe County lock-up, awaiting his fate. He could be in even bigger trouble, because, according to the female Subway employee, he held a knife to her throat while demanding the cash, and also choked her with his other hand.

Polishing up his resume for a shot at an Amazon job may be moot at this point.
