This weekend is the finale for the NASCAR Sprint Cup 2013 Chase.  Hard to believe the season is winding down already.  They'll be racing for the Cup Sunday in Homestead, Florida and the driver poised to win is one we've seen do this many times before.Jimmie Johnson is poised to win another Sprint Cup Championship this weekend.  After a cat and mouse battle for eight races between Johnson and Matt Kenseth, someone finally blinked in the drive for this year's Sprint Cup Championship.  Last Sunday, Johnson overcame two close calls to finish third in Phoenix while Kenseth faltered into 23rd.

Johnson now has a 28 point cushion going into Sunday's finale at Miami Motor Speedway in Homestead, Florida.  He needs to finish 23rd or better to clinch the title, even if Kenseth wins the race.  The only other driver mathematically still alive is Kevin Harvick.  A Johnson finish of 34th or better eliminates him.

Unless something really unusual happens, it's a pretty safe bet to say Jimmie Johnson is going to win his sixth Sprint Cup Championship this Sunday.  #48 fans, I know you're already happy.  Fans of Carl Edwards, like me, there's always next year!
