Tina Fey Responds to Taylor Swift: It Was a Joke, Lighten Up Already
Taylor Swift may have condemned Amy Poehler and Tina Fey to the fiery pits of hell for joking about her dating history on the Golden Globes, but neither of the comedic goddesses seems terribly concerned about it.
Amy already brushed off the comments in her typical self-deprecating fashion, and now Tina has weighed in too. But she wasn’t quite as playful about it.
As you’ll recall, Taylor gave an interview to Vanity Fair in which she was none too pleased about Poehler and Fey making light of her personal life — and to illustrate how she felt, she used a quote from the United States’ first female Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright: “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.”
When The Hollywood Reporter told Amy about it, she responded, “Aw, I feel bad if [Taylor] was upset. I am a feminist, and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff.”
Which brings us to Tina. Entertainment Tonight caught up with her Tuesday night at the NYC premiere of her new movie ‘Admission,’ and she was wholly unapologetic.
“If anyone was going to get mad at us, I thought it would be James Cameron,” Fey said. “I did not see [this] one coming. It was a joke. It was a lighthearted joke.”
Meanwhile, Taylor may or may not be somewhere writing a rebuttal in musical form.
