‘Tiny’ Houses Built Here In Central New York

Bill Rockhill has shipped his custom built tiny houses to locations from Oregon to Maine.   At the Woodgate, New York home of Bear Creek Tiny Houses, there are several of these small marvels under construction at any given time.

In recent years, with many people downsizing and even going off the grid, tiny houses have become popular.  You may have seen the show devoted to them on HGTV.  Bill began building these dwellings long before they were in the mainstream.  It was an idea he had that really caught on.

Most of the tiny houses are built on a platform with wheels.  They can be easily transported and if the owner decides to move, his house can relocate as well.

This particular model has the latest in technology for heat and AC.  It also has a washer/dryer hookup, good size fridge, and a queen size mattress in the loft.

Bear Creek Tiny Houses are built to last.  The construction is solid and Bill told us that the small homes have better insulation than most regular sized houses.  Since they are custom built, no two are alike.

Depending on the size, you can own a custom built tiny house for anywhere from $35,000 up to the very high end model for $70,000.  The average 200 square-foot home goes for around $50,000.  That's less than many cars and SUV's on the road today.
