Today Facebook Launches Video Calls, Powered by Skype
This morning you heard Jim & I talking about video chatting on Facebook. I brought up that in the past you needed a Skype account, they need an account, the computer must be near by and with a camera. Now, Facebook through a partnership with Skype, is rolling out integrated video calling to the public beginning today.

This morning I played the audio of Mark Zuckenberg describing how it works in simple terms.
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
The new integrated feature will not require the separate Skype client, but instead, just a touted “under 30 second wait” on your first use to install, call and chat.
This all happens seamlessly within the website, too, so it won’t disrupt your photo commenting session or ‘like’ options.
If you’re like me and are too impatient to wait until the rollout, you can set up video calling manually and use it right now. So far, we’re impressed, but what about you?
