The website Livability recently released the 2015 edition of the 100 Best Small Towns in America list. Out of the 100 places selected, just 3 New York locations made the list.

At #20 was Mount Kisco the town and village in Westchester County (and yes the town and village are one in the same - they are coterminous, meaning they share the same borders. There are just 5 coterminous town/villages in New York. Harrison, Scarsdale, Green Island and East Rochester are the others.)

Plattsburgh was ranked at #67 best small town in America. The city is located in far north-east New York State in Clinton County along Lake Champlain and just south of the Canadian border.

Finally at #80 is the Rockland County village of Suffern. The village, where the Thruway meets Interstate 287 sits right on the border with New Jersey.

The top Small Town in America, according to Livability was Lebanon, New Hampshire.
