With the convenience of online shopping it's no wonder why many businesses are facing closures. But it's not just the locally owned businesses dealing with this situation.

According to USA Today, Toys R Us will be closing up to 182 stores nationwide after filing for bankruptcy. California looks hardest-hit with 27 locations closing their doors. Toys R Us has named 14 stores in New York that will be closing.

New Hartford's Toys R Us is NOT on the list.

Many of the locations closing in New York are in and around the City, like the Toys R Us Stores in College Point, Sayville, Massapequa, Middle Village, and a handful of others.

The closest location to us that will be closing their doors is the Toys R Us at 708 Upper Glen Street in Glens Falls.

The Toys R Us in Henrietta (outside of Rochester), Amherst (on the western side of the state), Kingston (south of Albany), Latham (north of Albany), and in Greece (just north of Rochester), will all be closing.

According to USA Today, these Toys R Us locations, along with the rest that will be shutting down across the country, will begin their "going out of business" sales starting next month. They plan to be wrapped up by April.
