Looking for an interesting "date night" idea, or just want to do something different on the weekend? You may want to check out the Beer and Wine Train on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad.

Have you ever taken a ride on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad? It's a pretty unique and beautiful experience. If you have, have you ever taken part in one of their "Beer and Wine Trains?" Now that's something you'll always remember. If you haven't (or even if you have), why not take a trip this Friday?

The Adirondack Scenic Railroad's Beer and Wine Train will depart from Union Station (in Utica) at 6:30pm (with boarding beginning at 6pm) on Friday, May 19th. The train will then take you on a scenic ride as you make your way to Remsen Station. While you're taking in all the views and enjoying the calming motion of the train, you'll get to indulge in some delicious award-winning cheeses, light snacks, and select beers and wines (that are available for purchase). There will also be music to tie the whole event together. There is also non-alcoholic beverages available if you would just like to enjoy the ride, music, and light snacks. The cost is $25 per person and of course you must be 21 or over to ride for this trip (even if you're not drinking).

They also have special first-class tickets available, which include gourmet hor d'oeuvres and table seating (and table side service). Those tickets are $45 a person.

Once you make it up to Remsen Station, the train will take a 30 minute break, which will give you a few minutes to stretch your legs and move around a bit before heading back to Union Station.

You can get more information and get your tickets by visiting: AdirondackRR.com

And if you can't make it out to this week's "Beer and Wine Train," there are other ones throughout the summer and into fall. Here are the other dates:

Fri. July 21
Fri. August 4
Fri. September 8
Fri. September 22
Fri. October 6

So if you're looking for something unique and fun to do on a Friday evening, or just want a little time away from the kids, a ride on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad may be just what you need.
