Utica Business Owner Receives National Award from FedEx [VIDEO]

Jim De Armond is the owner of JSD Express in Utica. He owns a fleet of FedEx trucks and has been serving the Utica-Rome area for the past 25 years. He recently was honored by FedEx Nationally receiving the 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Line-Haul Division.

Jim started the company and 11 years ago hired his son "Junior" in the hopes of teaching him everything about the business so that he one day may take it over. They have grown immensely in the last few years and continue to do so. One of the prides of this thriving business is their emphasis on safety, not only for their drivers, but for others on the road. That is one of the many reasons why they were honored by the FedEx corporation. Congrats to Jim and his employees!
