Imagine if Utica became as famous in the cartoon world as the Simpson's Springfield or the fictitious Quahog of Family Guy. It might have happened had Utica Cartoon been picked up by Cartoon Network.
Created by Central New York natives, Fran and Will Krause, the pilot for Utica Cartoon revolves around Dan Bear and Micah Monkey who find a way to enjoy a free hot dog lunch.
Construction Begins on Big Red UTICA Tower Sign in North Utica
Plans have been in the works for a large structure that will proclaim UTICA to travelers coming to the city. Now construction on the Utica Tower has begun. I spotted the beginning phases of the structure and the 7-foot tall letters on a recent walk along the Erie Canalway Trail in North Utica.
