A Utica man is being featured on TLC's show 'Mama Medium' as he shares his experiences since receiving a liver transplant from a young donor.

'Mama Medium' features the abilities of Rochester mom Jennie Marie, who reportedly can talk to the dead. The show premiered on TLC on November 5th, and the November 19th episode will feature the story of Loren Taurisano.

Loren Taurisano received a life-saving liver transplant in 2016 from a 23-year-old donor - who turned out to be the niece of a close friend. According to his sister, Cheryl, "Loren received a liver from a local 23-year-old woman who was found non-responsive. She had signed a donor card so her mother and sister and aunt wanted to donate the liver." She says since the transplant, the Taurisano family and the donor's family have become close.

Cheryl says the "Discovery channel (parent of TLC) had put out an email and my brother answered. The producers spoke with him, then sent a crew to Rochester. Brandi, the donor, comes to my brother in his dreams. He was afraid to tell anyone because he didn’t want them to think he was nuts."

Previous episodes feature Jennie Marie making contact with a woman who has been unable to speak since an accident 8 years ago, and group readings. In a release, TLC says "Jennie Marie has both a larger-than-life personality AND the extraordinary ability to talk to the dead. Every episode will showcase several readings, offering a first-hand look at Jennie Marie's unique ability to connect with people on a deeper level. Set in Rochester, the series will also explore Jennie Marie's home life. The vivacious matriarch isn't the only gifted person in her family; three of her four sons also share some of her abilities, and you'll have a chance to watch their talents evolve over the course of the series."

'Mama Medium' airs on TLC, on Monday nights at 9pm.
