Utica’s Union Station Makes ‘Most Beautiful’ List
Union Station in Utica has made the list of the "Most Beautiful Train Stations Across America." It was one of 11 train stations that made the list released by the travel website Thrillist.
The website says Union Station was designed by the same architects that were behind New York City's Grand Central Station. The inside features marble pillars and circular chandeliers.
The busiest time for the Utica train station was during World War 2, when it served as a major hub for transporting soldiers. The station was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
