Thrilllist.com recently named Utica New York's Union Station one of the most beautiful train stations in all of the US.

If you've ever had a chance to visit Union Station in Utica, it should come as no surprise why it made this prestigious list; but this is quite the honor considering the other big names that share the title of "most beautiful."

Other well-known terminals that made the list are: Union Station in Washington D.C., and the world famous Grand Central Station in New York City.  A picture of Union Station in Utica is posted below.

Thrillist mentioned that Union Station was:

Designed in 1914 by Allen Stem and Alfred Fellheimer, the same architects behind New York City's Grand Central Station, this Beaux-Arts gem is decked out with marble pillars, circular chandeliers, and a coffered ceiling. The station saw its most traffic during World War II, when it served as a major hub for transporting soldiers.

I visited Union Station in the winter and I had the opportunity to warm up on the heated benches inside the terminal. I stayed toasty while I waited for my train bound for NYC to arrive.

Other train stations that made the "most beautiful" list are: Cincinnati's Union Terminal, Los Angeles's Union Station, Amtrak Train Station in Barstow, California, Chicago's Union Station, Main Street Station in Richmond, Virginia, Baltimore's Penn Station, Denver's Union Station, and 30th Street Station in Philadelphia.
