Businesses and organizations around Central New York are 'Going Red' on Friday, February 5th. Varick Street has joined in, and they're offering special deals just for the cause.

Friday, February 5th is National Go Red for Women Day and businesses, landmarks, and organizations are 'Going Red.' Places will decorate in red, shine red lights, and people will dress in red, all to bring awareness to heart health, and especially women's health.

Varick Street has joined the list of places that have taken 'The Red Pledge' on February 5th. Not only will businesses be glowing red on Varick Street, but there will also be special deals on this day.

Registration happens at the Saranac Brewery starting at 5pm, where you can pick up a wristband for $5 and get free admission to the bars on Varick Street, plus deals on drinks and food. You can also pick up a wristband at the bars participating in 'Go Red.'

Make sure you wear red if you're heading out this Friday. Support the American Heart Association and honor the memory of friends and family on National Wear Red Day.
