Verizon Land Line Issue, Call 9-1-1 In Case Of Emergency

Temporary trouble with some Verizon seven digit land line phones is prompting local emergency services officials to request that you call 9-1-1 directly if you need emergency assistance.

Verizon is experiencing land line phone issues in Oneida County and in areas of New York State, the official said. Anyone needing to contact a police department, fire department or ambulance is asked to call 9-1-1 instead of dialing a seven-digit phone number for emergency services.

This will continue until further notice, officials said.
