When is the last time you opened a phone book too look up a number? Chances are this was replaced with the phrase "Google it." In recent years, phone book usage has dropped down to near zero. With that news, Verizon has announced they will no longer be delivering phone books in Central New York.

According to Syracuse.com, this decision had to be passed by State regulators first. They have given Verizon permission to stop delivering telephone books to its customers in New York. Many look at this as an environmental win. Most telephone books in recent years have found their way into recycling trash bins.

If you'd still like a book, you can get a special ordered one. Verizon will still send you one upon request for free. Call 1-800-888-8448 to place your order.
