National Weather Service Confirms Tornado Touchdown in Verona

The stormed that ravaged Central New York on June 17, 2014 included a tornado touchdown in Verona according to the National Weather Service.

After conducting a survey in the town, the NWS found,

Preliminary results from a storm survey indicated an EF-1 tornado touched down in Verona, NY yesterday with top winds of near 100 MPH. The time was around 10:30 PM.

Strong thunderstorms were wide spread across the region with Verona taking the brunt of the damage.
