A partnership between the PGA and a Central New York golf facility will provide free golf lessons to veterans this fall.

The Oneida Indian Nation in Verona announced that it will be offering free golf lessons at Turning Stone to veterans this fall through its partnership with PGA HOPE - which is a charitable arm of the PGA which supports the US military.

The free weekly program will offer golf instruction from Turning Stone’s certified PGA Golf Professionals at the resort’s Golf Dome and Sportsplex from October 30 – December 15 (excluding Thanksgiving week). Broad focus classes will be held Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m., Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m., Thursdays from 8-10 a.m. and Saturdays from 12-2 p.m. Short game-focused classes will also be available on Fridays from 3-5 p.m., according to a release.

Golf offers all sorts of benefits - including improved cardiovascular health and stress relief (depending on how you play).

To learn more about this free golf program for veterans, you can visit the Oneida Nation’s Maple Leaf Market stores. To register for the program, interested veterans can contact instructor Ryan McGinnis at 315-361-7612. Each veteran will be limited to one class.
