Veterans Pick Up Tab For Active Duty Members in Rome

One random act of kindness leads to another in Rome, New York. Samanta Gotti and her boyfriend saw an elderly gentleman eating along and decided to pay for his meal. As she was taking care of the bill she noticed a table of veterans who picked up the tab for a table of active duty soldiers.

"I witnessed a miracle. Not only did I pay it forward, so did a table of retired service members. They purchased the four meals and drinks for the people at a separate table that had all active duty service members at it," says Gotti.

My husband and I also had the privilege of buying a soldier's meal. He was in uniform, sitting alone at the bar where we were waiting for a table. While paying for our drinks, we added his meal to our bill. We were taken to our table before he even realized.

To all men and women in uniform, past and present, thank you for your sacrifice and service.
