38 years of concerts, demo derbies and family fun, went up in smoke at the New York State Fair. The grandstands were demolished Saturday afternoon.

The grandstand was brought down by explosive charges to make room for an RV park, according to a post on the New York State Fair Facebook page. “This The first step in a massive project to renovate and upgrade the nation’s oldest state fair.”

Future fair concerts will be held at the new Lakeview Amphitheater.
