One of Utica's favorite Comets did not make the trip to Oklahoma City for this leg of the 2nd round of The Calder Cup Playoffs. An injury he sustained during game 2 at the AUD is the one that took him out of Monday's game 3 win. The big question is when will this powerhouse return to the ice and playoff competition? Will he?

According to the Round 2: Playoff Notebook, written by Director of Communications Mark Caswell Jr. on UticaComets.com, the initial injury occurred during game 2 at the AUD.

He left the game in the second period with a lower-body injury. I’d be surprised if we see him take to the ice tonight. He stayed and watched the rest of the game, so the fact that a hospital visit was not needed is a good sign for a possible return to the series.

Despite not needing a trip to the hospital, the Comets left wing was spotted at a local restaurant last night to watch the away game with some kind of brace on his leg and walking with the assistance of crutches. When asked about Archibald's status, Mark Caswell responded, "Just that it's a lower body [injury] and he didn't make the trip." There is no word yet on a timeline for his return, but as more details become available we will let you know. Having already scored one goal during this playoff run, his absence is definitely felt. Comets center Will Acton and left wing Ludwig Blomstrand also did not make the trip.

One of the Many Reasons we Need Archibald
