Have you noticed the banners that are hanging up on Genesee Street?

They're a part of a new ad campaign called "Getting to Know a New Downtown." The banners will present an opportunity for us to get to know other people in the community. Let's face it, we're all important, and we all play in an integral part in the growth and development of the "City That Sometimes Sleeps."

The banners feature pictures of individuals performing their jobs and showcase different characteristics about themselves.

A group of Utica residents are working to spruce up their city one district at a time. They began in "Bagg's Square" and are moving south into downtown, bringing color and a little personality to Genesee Street. Cara Thomas shares what's new in downtown Utica.

There are currently 6 banners in downtown. In the next couple of months, there will be as many as 20 in flight! Here's another reason Utica rocks!
