When Do Central New Yorkers Open Christmas Gifts?

Whichever your family does, it probably stems from a tradition that you followed as kids.  Some families open gifts on the night before Christmas, others wait until Christmas morning.  Doesn't Santa's visit happen during the overnight?

I recently met a couple who have been married for many years, and they still don't agree on when to open their presents.  The husband argues for Christmas eve, but the wife insists on waiting 'til Christmas morning.  I'm told that the husband usually wins as his wife gives in more often than not.
