Friday (9/22/17) is National Ice Cream Cone Day. So which ice cream shops in the area will still be open, serving up some tasty cones?

With this run of great weather, it's no surprise that we've still been seeing long lines at some of our favorite ice cream hangouts. Unfortunately, several of them have already closed for the season.

Nicky Doodle’s in North Utica: UPDATE - Nicky Doodle's is now closed for the season.

B & F Milk Center & Ice Cream Shop: this place has been a staple in Whitesboro for a long time, and of course they'll have cones for Ice Cream Cone Day.

The Ice Cream Factory in Chadwicks: they said they have a tentative closing date of October 1st, but with the weather we've been having they might stay open a little longer this year.

Bonomo’s Dari Creme in Clinton: sadly Bonomo’s Dari Creme Facebook Page says they've already closed for the season.

Tasty Treat in Utica: they will still be open right through this weekend.

Papa Rick's Snack Shack in Rome: they're open til Columbus Day Weekend.

Sundaes In Clinton: this newcomer to the local ice cream scene has been a huge success. The "sister" store to Roc-Star Ice Cream in Waterville (which is now closed for the season), Sundaes has fall hours in effect - 2pm-9:30pm 7 days a week. Since it's an indoor shop, we're hoping they stay open year round.

Inside Scoop in Stittville: they have added bonus hours right through this weekend thanks to the beautiful weather.

Wendy's Diner in Cassville: not only do they have great diner food, but they have an outstanding ice cream window that will be open through this weekend.

Dave's Diner in Schuyler: technically not an ice cream shop, but they will definitely be open and serve an ENORMOUS ice cream cone. (see video below)

Burrstone Ice Cream Parlor in Utica: according to their Facebook page, they have also closed for the season.

The Ice Cream Station in Ilion: according to their Facebook page, they closed at the end of this past weekend.

Papa Charlies in Schuyler: their Facebook page says they were staying open until mid-September. Might be out of luck here too - currently no one's answering their phone.

Morrisville State College: again, technically not an ice cream shop, but if you're lucky enough to be a student there, you'll get an ice cream cone for lunch on Friday at Seneca Dining Hall. Yup, that's what you get for your tuition dollars.

Byrne Dairy and Stewart's Shops serve up ice cream all year round, and got a few mentions on our Facebook page. Is your favorite ice cream shop open on National Ice Cream Cone Day? Or will you just celebrate with your own cones at home?
