This Sunday, 2/2/14 is a very important day.  Not only is it Super Bowl Sunday but it's also Groundhog Day.  How much longer will winter last?  Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow Sunday morning?

Punxsutawney Phil will come out of his burrow at Gobbler's Knob Sunday morning at 7:20 and make his weather prediction at 7:25am.  If Phil sees his shadow, we'll have six more weeks of winter.  However, if Phil doesn't see his shadow, we'll have an early spring.

Last year, Phil didn't see his shadow.  Considering the brutal cold much of the country has dealt with in January, I think many of us are crossing our fingers and hoping for a repeat of last year.  Memo to Phil.  Please don't see your shadow!

By the way, the first Groundhog Day at Gobbler's Knob dates back to 1887.
