Controversy continues to swirl around a recent image that shows two uniformed military moms breastfeeding their babies. According to RightThisMinute, a woman involved with the photo was actually fired from her job. Does that seem fair?

Crystal Scott, the woman who organized the photo, says she’s been fired as a x-ray technician due to the ensuing controversy. After it surfaced in the media two weeks ago, the photo immediately caused a furor among people who thought it was an unbecoming depiction of military women in uniform.

Scott is program director for the Washington State-based breastfeeding group Mom2Mom and had the photo taken as part of a national breastfeeding campaign. The original image shows two female members of the Air National Guard nursing their babies at Fairchild Air Force Base.

Scott, a former member of the military who lives with her active-duty husband, can’t understand why something with such a positive message resulted in her termination.

“I was doing something for the good of people,” she said. “I feel like our organization is making positive changes for women all over the world. To be punished for something that was good was unfortunate.”

What do you think? Should Scott have been fired? Check out the original photo below.
