The King of Pop died nearly five years ago but the millions of Michael Jackson fans around the world will be able to enjoy new music from him next month.  "Xscape" arrives in stores this May.

According to USA Today, "Xscape" features eight previously unknown Michael Jackson songs which have been re-worked for a more modern sound.  Producers such as Timbaland worked on giving the songs a "contemporized" sound.

"Xscape" is on Epic Records, and CEO LA Reid explains why they chose the producers they did to work on the album.

Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with.

The album, which is available for pre-order starting today, arrives in stores May 13th.

2010's album "Michael" was the last compilation of unreleased songs from the King of Pop.
