After washing a tube of lipstick, left in the pocket of a pair of pants, I've tried every trick in the book to remove the stain. From google searches to listener suggestions. Nothing worked. Just as I was about to give up and toss the pants, I tried one last suggestion and to my amazement, the pants came out clean. And you won't believe what I used.

Google searches suggested hairspray. Nope. A listener suggested a paste of peroxide, baking soda and Dawn detergent. Make a paste, let sit and wash. That didn't work either.

I was about to throw in the towel, so to speak. After all, the pants have not only been washed several times, they've been thrown in the dryer, twice. I dried them the first time before noticing the stain and my daughter tossed them in after one of my many washings.

What could possible clean a set-in lipstick stain? WD-40!

Thank you Melody for sharing a post she saw on Facebook about the many uses for WD-40. Who knew it worked on so many things like on the Statue of Liberty, to keep flies off cows and even to relieve arthritis pain.

WD-40 Uses:

*Protects silver from tarnishing.
*Cleans and lubricates guitar strings.
*Gives floor that 'just-waxed' sheen without making them slippery.
*Keeps the flies off of cows, horses.
*Removes grime from the barbecue grill.
*Keeps glass shower doors free of water spots.
*Gives a children's playground gym slide a shine for a super fast slide.
*Removes grease splatters from stove-tops.
*Keeps bathroom mirror from fogging.
*Keeps pigeons off the balcony (they hate the smell).
*Removes all traces of duct tape.
*Folks even spray it on their arms, hands, and knees to relieve arthritis pain.
*WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a little on live bait or lures and you will be catching the big one in no time. Also, it's a lot cheaper than the chemical attractants that are made for just that purpose.
Keep in mind though, using some chemical laced baits or lures for fishing are not allowed in some states.
*Use it for fire ant bites. It takes the sting away immediately and stops the itch.
*It is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray it on the marks and wipe with a clean rag.
*The favorite use in the state of New York, it protects the Statue of Liberty from the elements.
