100 Miles of the New York State Thruway Closed Between Syracuse and Amsterdam
A massive traffic back-up in the eastbound lanes of the New York State Thruway in the Mohawk Valley has caused the Thruway Authority to close more than 100 miles of the highway eastbound.
All traffic is being diverted off of the Thruway at Exit 34A (Interstate 481 east of Syracuse).
Expect heavy traffic on NY Routes 5 and 5S.
The westbound lanes of the Thruway are also closed between Amsterdam and Fultonville.
