Have a cold?  Eat some chicken soup.  Going outside in the winter with wet hair?  Oh no, you're going to get a cold.  You've heard these old wives' tales.  Is there any medical truth to them?

Actually, yes.  Some of them are true.  For instance, drinking ginger ale does help when your stomach is upset.  I remember my Mom giving us that when we were sick as kids and it always made me feel better.  She'd let it get flat, though, on purpose.  Penn.live has eight popular old wives' tales which they have medical experts determinie which are true and which aren't.  One that I used to hear was to never go outside in cold weather with wet hair because you'll get sick.  The verdict?  Not true.  Good, because I  still do that all the time.  Which ones did you hear alot growing up?
