Father's Day is less than two weeks away. Delilah wants to hear from you about your father, so get your Dad stories in to our Nite Lite hostess.

Just a couple weeks till we celebrate another important holiday and honor all of our dads and father figures with, well, probably some really yummy barbecue. But aside from the food our dads love, you can also honor them with a dedication in a special way. Take this cue from Emily, who wrote a nice story about her adoptive father…

This past March I Celebrated 19 years being adopted. I came from a very abusive past and did not trust men. When I was adopted it took nearly 2 years just for my dad, Dan, to be able to put his hand on my shoulder without me jumping.

I often was out of control because of the past trauma. My dad put me in intensive residential treatment programs as a teenager where I found your program. He never failed to be there trying to build my trust not just for him but for all men.

My father walked me down the aisle 6 years ago. He has supported me through everything. It is because of him and his never-ending support I am able to have a successful life, be a great mother and to follow my dreams of working towards a degree in criminal justice.
